Regret: Call-To-Action (Thursday - Saturday)

Regret (v.)Late 14th century, regreten, "to look back with distress or sorrowful longing; to grieve for on remembering,"

Regret (n.) a complaint, lament; pain or distress in the mind due to some external circumstances

* Review Monday's post on Regret once more. Then, proceed to the Call-to-Action activities below. *

Conclusion

Don’t allow regret to negatively affect your future. You’ve survived 100% of your worst days for a reason. I can guarantee you that that reason was not to harbor on your past disappointments. Move forward to correct or improve the outcome you regret just as God did in the example of Him choosing Saul. This week try to be mindful of your thoughts and actions, bringing it all to the conformity of God’s Word.

Prayer

God,

Thank You for Your grace and Mercy. Your Word says that we have all sinned and fallen short of Your glory, but we are still forgiven! You Love us in spite of our disappointing moments. Help us to see our regrets as a compass that points us to You so that You can direct our path. Teach us to forgive ourselves and others as You have instructed us to do. Speak to us this week, prepare our hearts, and reveal the things that are hindering us from fulfilling the purpose You have given us for Your Name’s sake. We thank You and glorify Your Holy Name. It is in Jesus’s Name we pray.

AMEN.

Call-To-Action!

Activities:

Thursday/Friday/Saturday

Read Monday's scriptures multiple times in different versions (I.e., ESV, NIV, NLT). They are listed again for you below. The Bible app offer various version. Also, Bible Gateway is a Bible site that makes it easy to switch from one version to the next (https://www.biblegateway.com/). Remember to pray to God asking Him to show you what He wants you to see within the scriptures.

  • Romans 3

  • 2 Corinthians 7

  • 1 Samuel 15

Now, pray to ask God to reveal whatever you need to move past your regret(s) and press on to your future with purpose and gratitude. Take a few minutes to think and reflect on regret(s) that you are still holding on to. The key is to think and reflect, not harbor and dwell on. Write or type what you have or can learn from these regrets, those disappointing outcomes. Then, expand on how you can carry out a plan to implement what you have written/typed. Reflect, notate, and pray throughout this process for a few days.

On Saturday, review all of your notes (your notes from the scriptures, notes from your regret(s), things The Holy Spirit spoke into your heart, plans to move forward with purpose, etc.). Be sure to keep your notes and add to them as God reveals things to you. Most importantly, read them when you feel yourself going down a rabbit hole of dwelling on the regret(s) of your past.

Thank you for reading. I pray that this has been a blessing to you. Remember, you do not have to do life alone. Let’s walk this journey of wholeness, gratitude, and purpose together!
